1. Our Core Commitment to Privacy
Welcome to Store Shortcut. Store Shortcut is a utility from Taponyourglass for televisions, streaming sticks, and set-top boxes running Android TV or Google TV. Its normal purpose is to open the official Google Play Store.
Store Shortcut does not display advertisements or use a behavioral advertising system. During normal app use, it does not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, searches, TV viewing history, list of apps downloaded or installed, photos, audio recordings, video content, or an advertising profile. If you email support, we receive the information you choose to include in that email.
🔒 Privacy Summary
- Personal information: The categories listed above are not collected during normal app use.
- No advertising or behavior profile: Store Shortcut has no ads and no behavioral advertising system.
- Limited technical processing: License, integrity, connection, purchase, entitlement, and device/app records are processed as described below.
- Support is voluntary: Support information is received when you choose to contact us.
2. Information We Process
Store Shortcut does not collect the personal information named in Section 1 during normal app use. It processes limited technical and licensing information to verify that the app is genuine and licensed through Google Play.
- Scrambled app identifier: The app creates a shortened scrambled code from the TV's Android device identifier. The original raw identifier is not transmitted. The code is stored locally and sent to Firebase and RevenueCat as an app and licensing identifier. It is not randomly generated and may be connected to the television.
- License verification: Store Shortcut stores whether verification succeeded and whether its RevenueCat record was synchronized. It also processes the Play Integrity result used to help confirm that the app is genuine and licensed.
- Country information: During license verification, the app attempts to read the Google Play account country. If that country is unavailable, the backend may use the internet address attached to the connection with an external country- lookup service to estimate the country. This is an approximate country, not GPS coordinates or precise physical location.
3. Required System Permissions
Store Shortcut does not use an Accessibility service and does not continuously monitor television activity in the background. Its normal function is to open the official Google Play Store, with internet communication used when license verification needs it.
- No device permissions for personal content: The app does not request GPS or precise-location, camera, microphone, contacts, photos, or storage permissions.
- No Accessibility service: Store Shortcut uses standard system behavior to open Google Play Store and does not use Accessibility access.
- No dedicated crash-reporting SDK: Store Shortcut does not include Firebase Crashlytics or another dedicated crash-reporting SDK.
4. Third-Party Services
Store Shortcut uses these services for license verification, purchase and entitlement records, and basic device/app information. Their own privacy policies also apply.
- Google Play and Play Integrity: On the first verification, or when local verification information is missing, Store Shortcut requests a Play Integrity check. The check helps confirm that the app is genuine and licensed through Google Play. The result is stored locally, so it does not normally need to happen on every use. It may happen again after app data is cleared, the app is reinstalled, the TV is reset, or the saved result is unavailable. See the Google Privacy Policy.
- Firebase Functions: The backend receives the Play Integrity token, the scrambled app identifier, country information when available, and the request's normal connection information. It uses these details to confirm that the app is genuine and licensed. See Firebase Privacy Information.
- RevenueCat: RevenueCat may receive the scrambled app/licensing identifier, purchase and entitlement information, Google Play account country or estimated country, licensing status, regional purchase information, TV manufacturer and model, Android version, device language, and app version. This supports purchase records, entitlement information, license-related records, and basic device/app information. See the RevenueCat Privacy Policy.
- IP-API country lookup: If Google Play country information is unavailable, the backend may send the internet address attached to the connection to the IP-API country-lookup service at ip-api.com to estimate the country. This provides an approximate country, not GPS coordinates or a precise physical location.
5. Data Storage & Security
Store Shortcut stores locally whether verification succeeded, the scrambled RevenueCat/app identifier, whether the RevenueCat record was synchronized, and basic app preferences. Backups are disabled for Store Shortcut.
Local information remains until app data is cleared or the app is uninstalled. Firebase, Google, the country-lookup provider, and RevenueCat may retain licensing, integrity, connection, purchase, entitlement, and service records according to operational needs and their policies.
6. Data Deletion
Store Shortcut does not currently provide an in-app button that deletes server data. Clearing app data or uninstalling the app removes the locally stored verification state and identifier. Uninstalling does not automatically delete information already held by Firebase, Google, the country-lookup provider, or RevenueCat.
For privacy questions or a deletion request, email support@taponyourglass.com. Additional information may be needed to locate a matching service record. Some records may need to be retained for license validation, security, fraud prevention, or legal reasons.
7. Children's Privacy
Store Shortcut is a general television utility. It does not ask users to enter their name, age, contact information, or personal profile. The same limited technical licensing information may be processed regardless of who operates the television. Parents or guardians may contact support@taponyourglass.com with questions.
8. Policy Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in the app, its services, or legal requirements. Updates will be published on this page with a new "Last Updated" date.
